Each summer in movie theatres across the country, Will Rogers Institute embarks upon a special fund raising event - the Summer Theatrical PSA. One hundred percent of the money raised from this campaign funds the Institute's mission in the areas of medical research and health education. Approximately three-fourths of Will Rogers Institute operating budget is generated in this manner.
The Summer Theatrical PSA involves a trailer - a short preview film shown before a feature movie discussing the scope and purpose of Will Rogers Memorial Fund. In 1936, the first campaign trailer was produced starring Shirley Temple and Bing Crosby. Throughout the decades, a variety of movie stars and celebrities including Cary Grant, Henry Fonda, Clint Eastwood, Shirley MacLaine, Frank Sinatra, Gregory Peck, John Wayne, Charlton Heston, Barbra Streisand, The Rock and Sharon Stone to name a few, have hosted the Summer Theatrical PSA trailer.

Public Support is the backbone of Will Rogers Institute. Not only is the public generous during audience collection time, but many donations are made in gratuity for the free health and fitness booklets the Institute provides from private donations in bequests, memoriams, and the establishment of trusts.
Since Will Rogers Memorial Fund is a charitable organization, gifts made by individuals or corporations are exempt from income, gift and inheritance taxes to the extent and manner provided by Federal and State laws. Consultation with an attorney is advisable when contemplating such a gift.
Will Rogers Memorial Fund, since its inception, has maintained a special relationship with members of the entertainment industry. Various unions and guilds, such as the IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees), and WOMPI (Women of the Motion Picture Industry) have been vital to our success. Through their unique fund raising activities, these various segments of the entertainment industry have dramatically increased their ongoing support of Will Rogers Memorial Fund. This support has enabled WRMF to extend its generosity to include all members of the entertainment industry and their immediate families by offering free medical benefits and services such as free blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol testing at industry worksites and conventions.
